As a founding design partner of Earth Rating, we are helping to shape a simpler, fairer way for every business in our supply chain to measure, evidence and improve its sustainability.

What is earth rating?

Earth Rating is a new operating system for sustainable business. It works like a credit score for people and planet, measuring not what a business says about itself, but what it can independently prove.

Three products sit on one platform: a sustainability credit score out of 1,000, a green claims checker that tests every public claim against the UK Green Claims Code, and Luno, an AI navigator that shows each business what to do next.

WHY EARTH RATING?

We wanted a way for our suppliers to take part without the cost, paperwork and months of work that existing certifications demand. Earth Rating is built automatically from public data, in minutes, with no forms and no consultants.

It also isn’t a pass or fail framework. We want to uplift and encourage our supply chain to adopt sustainability in the way we have, so we looked for a way to reward progress, wherever each business starts from. Earth Rating does exactly that.

Our Design Partnership

Every building relies on hundreds of businesses, from the teams who design it to the contractors, suppliers and partners who build and run it. Our progress depends on theirs. So we became a founding design partner of Earth Rating, helping to shape the platform around the realities of our industry.

Since January 2026, UK businesses can be held responsible for repeating a supplier’s green claim. We want every claim made across our supply chain to be one we can all stand behind, checked independently against the UK Green Claims Code.

It is also about shared values, and about celebrating sustainability rather than simply reporting it. We share our process and methodology openly, in the hope that others in our industry will take it on and make it their own. Earth Rating lets us extend that to our supply chain. We are starting with fifty of our key suppliers, scoring each one and giving clear feedback on where they stand, before inviting the rest to join us.
